There is no information on the medieval church of the village. The local noble family, Teleki, the owners of the village, built a wooden church for the community in 1779. This one was in use until 1862. The dampness of the soil determined, that the new church was transferred to a new location. The construction was carried out between 1862 and 1864, and it was supervised by the craftsman Schwartz, from Satu Mare. The building was financed by the local aristocratic families: Debreczeni and Eötvös, whose contribution is mentioned in the inscription from the church. The hall-church was built in the Romantic style and ends in a semicircular apse. The octagonal tower seems small to the size of the nave. The main façade is provided with circular windows, and with decorative false windows situated above the cornice. The pulpit is built in the classic style.
